Vulcascot vibration isolation material has been specifically formulated using high quality Neoprene and produced in solid strip of 76 x 38mm (3" x 1½") cross-section and supplied in lengths as specified by the transformer designer.

Using Neoprene, resistance to ozone cracking as well as oil and grease, is far superior to using natural rubber.

One of the tests under BEBS-T2 (1966) entails immersing our mountings in hot insulating oil (100°C) for 24 hours, cooling and checking the behaviour under static loading. These characteristics are maintained over a very long life and over a very wide range of ambient temperatures.
